About
A growth marketer who writes the code.
I’m Gregory Schnese. I’ve spent more than fifteen years making software companies grow, and most of that time I’ve been the person on the growth team who could also build the landing page, the tracking or the feature in React.
I started as a product manager at kikin, a New York contextual-search startup, where I owned user acquisition and helped take a browser plugin from roughly 300,000 to more than 2 million monthly active users. At CoPromote, a cross-promotion network for creators, I built the marketing and growth team from scratch and grew the member base and SaaS revenue 4x, past 700,000 members.
From 2018 to 2025 I led demand generation at Fleetio, where a $4M+ a year paid program and a cross-functional growth team delivered 10x growth in inbound ARR and doubled trial-to-paid conversion. Today I’m Director of Demand Generation at FMX.
Outside of work I build things: Day, a React Native habit app that pays out in Bitcoin; BitStack, portfolio and loan-tracking software for Bitcoiners. I also write Bitcoin, Borrow, Die, a weekly newsletter. These days I build mostly with AI coding agents, which has made the gap between “growth idea” and “shipped” smaller than it’s ever been.
I have an MS in Management and Systems from NYU, where I was a Dean’s Graduate Fellow, and a BS in Information Resources from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
Building a demand engine for a B2B SaaS product?
I take on a small number of advisory conversations each quarter: paid-acquisition audits, attribution and measurement, trial-to-paid conversion.
